My first real tomatoes!

I love it and now I'm hooked. I gave away 2 of the 'Sugary' tomatoes. I haven't tried one yet. I gave one to my neighbor and the other to my other neighbor. I have also been giving away jalapenos. I still have enough to pickle, though. I am going to the canning program at NHG on Sunday. Can't wait. I also can't wait to taste all the salsas. YUM!

Next week or so I will add a few more tomato plants to the garden. I can't wait to get some eggplants and banana peppers, too. In late summer I'll seed more lettuce and plant broccoli, cabbage and maybe some cauliflower. This year, I am also going to get my pansies, violas and poppies in the ground EARLY! The DABS conference really inspired me.

I think I am going to pull out a bunch of stuff and plant 75% herbs/veggies and the rest color as a border mixed in with the lettuces. My goal this season is keep to a color scheme. I am going to try to plant the mesclin mix close to the house and the lime green lettuce down the side of the yard and close to the street. I will mix in orange and yellow pansies and violas. I really liked the yellow pansies last season but the violas were super sweet. So many decisions. *sigh*

It is such a mystery. After being told what the symbol means, he still doesn't get it. At what age do they get the concept of peace? He is obsessed with super heros and understands the difference between good and bad and knows which side he wants (and should) be on. But, he doesn't really understand peace.

Life with a 4 year old is as frustrating as it is amazing and hilarious.
